A
major dispute between neighbors caused 53 year-old Thomas Lee
Melvin death and 23 year-old Danny Ray Nobles in jail charged with his
murder. This murder by gun shot happened Tuesday at the Saw Mill
apartment complex. Neighbors and local police reports state that there
were many ongoing disputes between two residents. Danny Ray
Nobles lived below Thomas Lee Melvin. Whiteville Police
have been called several times to stop their contested arguments.
Detective Tedd Dixon of the Whiteville Police Department was the
investigating officer. There personal battle was over NOISE.
There is a police report accusing Danny Ray Nobles of spitting on
Melvin from over the railing of their apartment building. This we do
know Mr. Nobles pulled a rifle from his vehicle and began shooting
Thomas Lee Melvin around 12 midnight as he was running from the
assault. Nobles chased Melvin around the apartment grounds as he was
fleeing for his life and shot him 12 times, killing him. Later Nobles
decided to turned himself into police. Nobles' for-sure is now
being held in the Columbus County jail with no bond.
