Larry O,Neil Simmons
44 years old
Arrest made for homicide.
in the
N.C. 905 in the Nakina area.

Phillip Ray Ikner, 49, who lived near Nakina, was killed in his home on Jan. 28 - 2011
The Murder weapon was said to be a golf club. Simmons was arrested Friday for second-degree murde. Phillip Ikner lived in the same home as Simmons mother, her boyfriend.

Simmons was arrested  for second degree murder it appeared tha Simmons deliver a blow at the base of his head white standing in his mothers living room before noon on Jan. 28 - 2011. Simmon's mother was said to be in another room with her daughter at the time of the slaying.

The Sheriff’s Department obtained the indictment and made the arrest Thursday.
Mr Ikner was taken to Columbus Regional Healthcare by Nakina Rescue personnel, there he was declared dead at the time of his arrival.

The Sheriff's departing notated that both men had been drinking.
