WHITEVILLE, NC - Whiteville Police Department and the Columbus County Sheriff's Department are on high alert. They are actively searching for a man who is charged  for assault with a deadly weapon, for inflicting serious body injury white exhibiting  a intent to kill.

Whiteville Police Department was involved in an incident investagation Saturday, July 30 at Cooke Apartments in Whiteville NC.  Mr. Sadler is accused of hitting (battering) Carlton Jones in the head with a baseball bat.  Jones is now  hospitalized suffering  with seaver life threatening injuries.

Sadler's history includes being a known gang member and  has been reported as being extremely violent. All caution shoud be excersized when finding oneself in hs pressents.
