The Shooting Of An Eight Year Old Girl

An eight year old girl was allegedly shot in her leg by James Allen Worley on July 2011.
A lady living in the Brookberry Apartments heard gunshots. Upon investigating the sound, she found her eight year old granddaughter, Breanna Shipman, bleeding and holding her leg.  She had been outside playing with her older sister. 
She was rushed to the emergency room at Columbus Regional Health Center.
James Allen Worley ran away from the crime scene leaving the little girl bleeding
 and crying.


This crime occurred in Whiteville City. Police alleged that there was a small battle between other persons.There were shots fired and a random one found the little girl as its target.The Whiteville City Police went to Fayetteville to bring Worley to justice.

James Allen Worley was charged with assault with a deadly weapon,
and inflicting serious injury on a child, and includes possession of a fire
arm by a convicted felon.
  This was not the first crime where Worley ran from his alleged crime.
He is also facing misdemeanor death by vehicle for a auto crash that killed Charles and Joyce Dubosie on the Pine Log Road in Whiteville  This crime occurred November first, 2008.
